TAG Airlines
Publishes nothing about carrying a passenger’s own wheelchair. You have to ask them.
TAG Airlines publishes no mobility-aid policy. Its website works and we read it, but it says nothing about carrying a passenger’s own manual or powered wheelchair — no battery rules, no size limits, no notice period. That silence is the finding, and it is why almost every field below is blank. Silence is not permission. Ask them directly, get the answer in writing, and read the international baseline so you know what should apply.

TAG's special-traveller content lives in the "Prepara tu viaje" section — Mujeres embarazadas, Menor sin acompañante and Pasajeros no admitidos — and none of the three mentions wheelchairs, mobility aids or disability assistance (all three re-read live on 2026-07-29). The old single "Viajeros Especiales" page on the retired tag.com.gt domain has been deleted: it now returns Cloudflare error 1034 "Edge IP Restricted" on vuela.tagairlines.com, yet TAG's own live navigation still links to it under "Alertas de viaje globales" and "Recomendaciones" — both are broken links a traveller will hit.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
TAG publishes nothing about powered wheelchairs. Its restricted-items page bans "baterías de litio o metal litio sueltas" (loose lithium or lithium-metal batteries) as miscellaneous dangerous goods, with no mobility-aid exception stated either way.

TAG publishes no assistance-request route. In practice the only channels are the general call centre (+502 2380 9400), the WhatsApp chat or atencionalcliente@tag.com.gt, none of which is described as an accessibility channel.

Re-checked live on 29 July 2026: "silla de ruedas", "discapacidad", "movilidad reducida" and "asistencia especial" return zero hits on the homepage, the sitemap, the FAQs, checked baggage, hand baggage, restricted items, sports baggage, Arpel, pet-on-board, travel tips, offices, services, travel requirements, pregnant women, unaccompanied minors and inadmissible passengers, nor in the Condiciones Generales de Contratación printed in every page footer. THE 2023 CITATION IS GONE, NOT MOVED: the old "Viajeros Especiales" page on tag.com.gt no longer exists anywhere — tag.com.gt now resolves to vuela.tagairlines.com and returns Cloudflare error 1034 "Edge IP Restricted"; the Internet Archive's newest capture of it is still 2 Oct 2023; and /prepara-tu-viaje/viajeros-especiales/, /pasajeros-especiales/, /asistencia-especial/, /movilidad-reducida/, /pasajeros-con-discapacidad/ and /silla-de-ruedas/ all 404 on tagairlines.com.
