"The battery must not exceed 300 Wh; or for a device that is fitted with two batteries required for operation, each battery must not exceed 160 Wh." STARLUX states this cap for the wheelchair's battery in the lithium section that also covers non-removable batteries left attached to the chair.

Required only where the aid is built for it: "Where a lithium, non-spillable (wet), nickel-metal hydride, or dry battery-powered wheelchair and mobility aid is specifically designed to allow its battery to be removed (e.g. collapsible)... the battery must be removed, and the wheelchair or mobility aid may then be carried as checked baggage." A removed lithium battery goes in a box in the cabin; a removed non-spillable, NiMH or dry battery goes in strong rigid packaging as checked baggage. "If the battery is not removable, it should be securely attached to the wheelchair."

Non-spillable (wet), nickel-metal hydride and dry batteries are accepted. Labels must be legible; the battery connector must be secured in a box to avoid short-circuiting; a non-removable battery must be securely attached; the circuit must be insulated against accidental activation. "One spare non-spillable (wet) battery is allowed as check-in baggage. Two spare nickel-metal hydride batteries or dry batteries are allowed as check-in baggage."

Accepted only if the aid can be kept upright: "STARLUX does not accept spillable (wet) batteries that cannot be loaded, stowed, secured, and unloaded in an upright position." Powered aids follow the same rule: used to the boarding gate where airport facilities and local regulations permit, checked in at the gate and returned at the gate after arrival; if disassembly was required the device is returned at the arrival gate.

"STARLUX Airlines provides a priority space in cabin on each flight for passengers to stow one foldable manual wheelchair.
