Fragments only. Southwind Airlines publishes some assistance information but not a full mobility-aid policy. What is below is everything it actually states. Everything marked “not published” genuinely is — confirm it with the airline rather than assuming the international baseline applies.

Southwind publishes no dedicated accessibility desk, disability email or relay service. The passenger call centre (+90 850 283 27 89) is the channel that has to approve carriage of a wheelchair or battery-powered walking device, and help.southwindairlines.com is the written support portal. Re-checked 29 July 2026: southwindairlines.com, www.southwindairlines.com, help.southwindairlines.com and southwindairlines.com.tr all still fail to respond (TLS handshake timeout on https, HTTP 504 on http, reader proxy HTTP 422), so these numbers come from an Internet Archive snapshot of Southwind's own contacts page dated 12 December 2025 — verify them before travelling. The SHGM links are the live regulator fallback.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
“Wheelchairs with non-spillable helium or lithium batteries are accepted on the flight. Transportation in the baggage compartment. If the device is foldable, it is allowed to take it on board the aircraft.” The row is marked “Southwind Airlines call center approval is required”, and carriage as hand luggage is “Not allowed”.

Not published for mobility aids; ICAO/IATA default applies — see global rules. Southwind’s 100 Wh and 100–160 Wh figures apply to portable electronic devices and loose spare batteries, not to wheelchair batteries.
Not published for mobility aids; ICAO/IATA default applies — see global rules.
Not published for mobility aids. Southwind’s “maximum of two spare batteries per passenger” (100–160 Wh) and “maximum of 20 spare batteries per passenger” (≤100 Wh) are general portable-electronics limits and have deliberately not been read across to wheelchair batteries.
Not published for mobility aids — see the note above about Southwind’s general portable-electronics spare-battery limits.

Not published. Southwind names only “non-spillable helium or lithium” wheelchair batteries as accepted and says nothing about spillable (wet) batteries — do not assume they are carried.
Not published for wheelchair batteries. Southwind requires loose spare batteries generally to be “protected separately in such a way that the possibility of a short circuit is excluded”.

Every battery-powered mobility aid needs Southwind call-centre approval; the chair travels in the baggage compartment unless it is foldable, in which case Southwind says it may be taken on board.
Manual wheelchairs
Not published separately. Southwind’s dangerous-goods row is headed “Wheelchairs or battery-powered walking devices” but its text describes only battery-powered chairs; there is no statement covering an unpowered manual chair.
“If the device is foldable, it is allowed to take it on board the aircraft.” This sits in the “Wheelchairs or battery-powered walking devices” row, whose hand-luggage column simultaneously reads “Not allowed” and which requires Southwind call-centre approval — so treat in-cabin carriage of a folded chair as something to clear with the call centre, not as a guarantee.

Booking & cost
Southwind publishes no deadline of its own — only that call-centre approval is required — so no value is asserted. As a legal backstop SHT-ENGELSIZ guarantees the Annex-1 assistance only where the passenger notified the carrier 'ucagin kalkis saatinden en az 48 (kirk sekiz) saat oncesinde' (at least 48 hours before departure), and arranges carriage of an electric wheelchair 'ucustan en az 48 saat oncesi bildirilmesi kosuluyla'. That is the regulator's floor; Southwind may demand more.
The dangerous-goods table marks the “Wheelchairs or battery-powered walking devices” row with “Southwind Airlines call center approval is required.” The contacts page gives the passenger call centre as +90 850 283 27 89 and the written channel as help.southwindairlines.com.

Southwind itself does not say, so no value is asserted. As a legal backstop SHT-ENGELSIZ Art. 11(1) requires a Turkish carrier to provide the Annex-1 assistance 'ek ucret, rapor/belge vs. talep etmeksizin' — without demanding an extra fee or documents — and Annex-1 includes carriage of the mobility aid. Carriage should therefore be free by regulation, but Southwind publishes no mobility-aid charge, and no fee position, of its own.
Not published by Southwind, so no value is asserted. As a legal backstop SHT-ENGELSIZ Annex-1 states 'Tibbi malzemeler haricinde, her bir engelli veya hareket kisitliligi bulunan kisi basina elektrikli sandalye dahil olmak uzere en fazla 2 adet hareket etme yetenegi saglayan ekipmanin tasinmasina izin verilir' — apart from medical equipment, up to 2 mobility items per disabled passenger, an electric chair included. That is the regulator's floor, not Southwind's published policy.
SHT-ENGELSİZ Art. 14: where a wheelchair, other mobility equipment or its accessories is lost or damaged while being handled at the airport or carried on the aircraft, the passenger's loss is met by the service provider responsible at that stage. Southwind itself publishes only a general damaged-baggage process (report to the ground handler's Lost & Found before leaving the airport, then write to lost-found@southwindairlines.com within 7 days) and no mobility-aid provision.

Worth knowing
FRESHNESS PASS 29 JULY 2026. Southwind Airlines (2S/STW, Antalya) sells seats directly through its own booking engine and describes itself as a 12-aircraft A330/A321/B777/B737-8 MAX operator, so operator_type is scheduled_passenger rather than acmi_charter — a human should confirm that reclassification. It also flies charter, and on a charter the contracting tour operator's or airline's conditions govern. SITE STILL DOWN FROM THIS NETWORK: southwindairlines.com, www.southwindairlines.com, southwindairlines.com.tr and help.southwindairlines.com were all retried on 29 July 2026 and all failed — https TLS handshake timeout, http 504 Gateway Timeout, r.jina.ai reader proxy HTTP 422, reader proxy with 25 s render the same. DNS resolves (85.111.9.41), so the host exists but does not serve us. The Wayback CDX index shows the crawler still reached the site as late as 27 June 2026, so this is very likely a block or outage on our side rather than a dead airline. SNAPSHOT REVIEW: CDX confirms the dangerous-goods page (14 Nov 2025), the disabilities page (16 Jan 2026) and the contacts page (12 Dec 2025) have no later capture; the about-company source has been moved forward from the 8 Sep 2025 capture to the 17 Mar 2026 capture, whose content is identical (same 12-aircraft fleet). The raw HTML of the dangerous-goods accordion was re-parsed to make sure the wheelchair item was read correctly: the 'Wheelchairs or battery-powered walking devices' item contains ONLY 'Not allowed' for hand luggage, 'Wheelchairs with non-spillable helium or lithium batteries are accepted on the flight / Transportation in the baggage compartment. If the device is foldable, it is allowed to take it on board the aircraft', and 'Southwind Airlines call center approval is required'. The 12 V / 100 Wh / 2 g / 20-spares figures belong to the SEPARATE 'Spare batteries (batteries and chargers), Powerbanks' item and have deliberately NOT been read across to wheelchair batteries. THINGS A HUMAN MUST RE-CHECK: (1) every Southwind figure is from an archive snapshot, none newer than 16 January 2026; (2) the /en/disabilities page is boilerplate naming 'Nordwind Airlines Ltd', not Southwind, and contains no assistance policy at all — the site's own HTML still uses Nordwind's 'nw-' component prefixes; (3) 'non-spillable helium … batteries' is almost certainly a mistranslation of gel, quoted verbatim rather than corrected. Because every Southwind source was an archive snapshot, two live Turkish DGCA (SHGM) sources have been added: SHT-ENGELSİZ (48-hour notification, up to two mobility items per passenger carried without extra charge, Art. 14 liability for a damaged wheelchair) and the SHGM passenger-rights/complaint page. notice_hours, fee_charged, devices_per_passenger and damage_liability are regulator-backed, not Southwind-published, and each detail says so.
