PAS

IATA UF ICAO PER Egypt · www.pas.com.eg (opens in a new tab)

Publishes nothing about carrying a passenger’s own wheelchair. You have to ask them.

PAS publishes no mobility-aid policy. Its website works and we read it, but it says nothing about carrying a passenger’s own manual or powered wheelchair — no battery rules, no size limits, no notice period. That silence is the finding, and it is why almost every field below is blank. Silence is not permission. Ask them directly, get the answer in writing, and read the international baseline so you know what should apply.

Wet-lease / ACMI operator. PAS usually flies aircraft and crew on behalf of other airlines. If your ticket says another airline, that airline’s wheelchair policy governs your booking — but the aircraft’s physical hold limits are this operator’s.

Who to contact

Transcribed from the airline’s own pages, exactly as it labels them.

No accessibility, special-assistance or passenger-services page exists on pas.com.eg — there is not even a booking engine. The only published channels are the Cairo headquarters switchboard, the commercial/operations mailboxes and the Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada sales offices, plus a generic "Contact us" message box. No disability desk, no relay service and no complaints channel for assistance is published.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries

The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.

Fleet detail. PAS publishes no hold dimensions, no baggage allowance and no maximum mobility-aid size for any aircraft. Its own Fleet page lists Bombardier DHC-8 and CRJ900 fixed-wing types for charter and VIP work plus AW139, EC135, Bell 206 and AS350B3 helicopters for offshore crew transport — a helicopter sector in particular is likely to be the binding constraint on a large powered chair, but the airline states nothing about it.

Worth knowing

VERDICT RE-VERIFIED 2026-07-29 and CONFIRMED: PAS publishes nothing at all about wheelchairs, mobility aids, disability assistance or mobility-aid batteries, in English or in Arabic. "PAS" (IATA UF, ICAO PER) is Petroleum Air Services, an Egyptian operator whose own site describes it as "the sole helicopter and fixed-wing service provider for all local and international oil and gas companies in Egypt, both off- and onshore", carrying client personnel from Cairo and its Red Sea, Mediterranean and Sinai bases to rigs and platforms, plus "a wide range of Charters", VIP flights on DHC-8 and CRJ900 aircraft, air taxi work, "Airline Feeder Services", third-party maintenance and airborne geophysical survey. operator_type was changed from scheduled_passenger to acmi_charter to reflect the contract/charter model on the airline's own services page; passenger_service is left true because PAS does carry passengers (crew transport, charter and VIP). DOCUMENT CLASSES CHECKED, so the silence is checkable rather than asserted: (1) EVERY PAGE OF THE SITE — enumerated through the airline's own WordPress REST API. /wp-json/wp/v2/pages returns 40 pages (including duplicate and Arabic variants), and all of them were retrieved and searched: about, services (five variants), fleet (four variants), bases, airports, clients, business, contact (two), careers (two), media (two), news, latest-news, magazine, resources, booking, privacy-policy, terms-conditions, the two Arabic خدماتنا pages and the jobs/dashboard scaffolding. Across roughly 85,000 characters of page text the words 'wheelchair', 'disability', 'disabled', 'special assistance', 'reduced mobility', 'battery', 'lithium' and even 'baggage' do not occur once; the only hits for 'mobility' are the marketing phrase "supporting tour operator's mobility". (2) THE SITE'S OWN SEARCH (/wp-json/wp/v2/search) returns ZERO results for wheelchair, disability, accessibility, baggage and assistance. (3) CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE: none exists. The page called 'Terms & Conditions' is a website terms-of-use notice. The only PDF on the site whose name suggested a contract — /wp-content/uploads/2017/10/terms-and-conditions-final.pdf — turns out to be the bilingual General Terms & Conditions of Bid 1/2023, a tender for the SALE OF SURPLUS HELICOPTERS ('Offers to be submitted by registered mail in a sealed envelope to Head of fleet committee'). It is not a passenger document. (4) DANGEROUS GOODS / BAGGAGE: no such page and no such PDF. The media library holds exactly six PDFs — the helicopter conversion training course, two issues of the PAS corporate magazine, the company Energy Policy in English and in Arabic, and the helicopter-sale tender above — plus two Word press releases. The 69 news posts (about 39,000 characters) and the six individual aircraft pages under /fleet/ were searched too, with no hits. There is no DG notice, no restricted-items list and no baggage rule anywhere. (5) BOOKING CHANNEL: /booking/ exists but is an empty template with no booking engine and no special-service request; PAS does not sell seats to the public. (6) ARABIC VERSION: the Arabic pages that exist (the two خدماتنا service pages, ?lang=ar) are translations of the corporate services copy and contain no wheelchair or disability content either. A wheelchair user on a PAS flight would be flying under a corporate or charter contract, so the CONTRACTING CLIENT and PAS commercial services (com@pas.com.eg, +20 2 2403 2180) are the only route to an answer, and it should be obtained in writing before travelling.
