Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
A lithium-battery wheelchair is carried if it uses one battery of no more than 300 Wh or two of no more than 160 Wh each, with the batteries fixed to the chair. Note: "Si llevas tu propia silla de ruedas motorizada con baterías, solo podrás obtener tu tarjeta de embarque en el aeropuerto" (except when departing Brazil). It tells wheelchair users to "conoce las dimensiones de la puerta de carga de nuestros aviones" in the fleet section: the Airbus A319 entry reads "Puerta de carga (alto x ancho): FWD 1,82 m x 1,24 m, AFT 1,82 m". LATAM Airlines Paraguay publishes its accessibility content on its own country site (www.latamairlines.com/py/es, footer "© 2026 LATAM Airlines Paraguay"), and the wording is identical to the other LATAM country sites — the figures above were read on the Paraguay pages, not copied from a sibling airline.
