Jin Air now publishes a dedicated accessibility channel: helpsvc@jinair.com and the Online Request Form for Special Assistance (submit at least 48 hours before the flight); a wheelchair can also be requested from "My Page > My Reservation > Details" after ticketing, from the Customer Service Center, or from airport staff at check-in. No TTY/text-relay service and no separate disability phone line are published — the general Customer Service Center number is the only voice channel, 09:00–18:00 KST. Jin Air designates Complaint Resolution Officials (CROs) at all airports for flights to/from the United States. Jin Air's former English help centre (help.jinair.com) has been shut down — the domain no longer resolves and its Zendesk instance returns "this help center no longer exists" — so the three help-centre citations here are archive copies of pages that no longer have a live equivalent.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Accepted under published battery limits but only after prior arrangement: "For electric wheelchairs, special arrangements are required. Please contact the customer center for inquiries." The Prohibited Items page bans lithium-powered boards and hoverboards but expressly routes electric wheelchairs to the Lithium Battery Entry Regulations instead, which set out a "Lithium Battery Powered Wheelchair (Medical Use)" rule. The Conditions of Carriage add that carriage of persons requiring special assistance "may be subject to prior arrangement with Jin Air".

Jin Air publishes a dedicated rule headed "Lithium Battery Powered Wheelchair (Medical Use)": a removable battery must be removed and carried by the passenger, and the chair is accepted as checked baggage when total battery capacity is under 300 Wh (each battery not exceeding 160 Wh); a non-removable battery stays fitted with short-circuit protection.

"If the battery is non-removable: It must be secured to the Wheelchair with short-circuit protection, and no capacity limit applies provided the battery remains firmly attached to the mobility aid." The Korean original is explicit: "배터리 전력량 제한 없음" — no watt-hour limit.

"If the battery is removable: Passenger must carry it after removing the battery. Only permissible for checked baggage when the total battery capacity is less than 300Wh (each battery not exceeding 160Wh)." Jin Air's own bullets: "With 1 battery, the passenger can carry one battery with a total capacity of less than 300 Wh"; "With 2 batteries … each with a capacity of less than 160 Wh." The Korean text says 300Wh 이하 (300 Wh or less) where the English says "less than 300Wh".

Not published for mobility aids. Jin Air's wheelchair rule covers the chair's own battery or batteries (one under 300 Wh, or two under 160 Wh each) and never uses the word "spare". The spare-battery table on the same page — 5 pieces at 100 Wh or less, 2 pieces from 100–160 Wh with airline approval, over 160 Wh forbidden — is written for portable electronics and power banks and has not been transferred here.
Not published as a spare count for wheelchairs. Jin Air allows the passenger to carry the chair's battery or batteries into the cabin (one under 300 Wh, or two under 160 Wh each) but states no allowance for an additional spare; the general spare-battery limits on the same page are for portable electronics, not mobility aids.
"If the battery is removable: Passenger must carry it after removing the battery" — the battery travels in the cabin with the passenger and the chair goes in the hold. A battery that cannot be removed must instead stay firmly attached to the chair with short-circuit protection, in which case no watt-hour cap applies.

Not published. Jin Air names no gel/AGM/sealed-lead-acid or dry-cell category for mobility aids; its wheelchair rule is written only for lithium batteries (checked live 2026-07-29).
Not published. Jin Air's battery and restricted-items pages address lithium batteries only; no wet/spillable-cell rule for mobility aids appears anywhere on the live site (checked 2026-07-29).
A non-removable battery "must be secured to the Wheelchair with short-circuit protection". Batteries taken into the cabin must be individually packaged — "plastic bags, protective caps, or insulating tape" / "individual packaging in vinyl packs" — to prevent short circuits.

No battery spec sheet, MSDS or manufacturer's label is demanded for a wheelchair battery; Jin Air only explains that "Wh (Watt-hours) is the value obtained by multiplying the ampere-hour (Ah) and voltage (V) indicated on the battery". Separately, passengers needing special assistance for physical/medical reasons must submit two copies of Jin Air's Health Status Confirmation Pledge.
Same loading threshold as for a manual chair, stated for a customer's own wheelchair generally rather than separately for powered chairs: over 122 cm (width) x 84 cm (height) "it may be difficult to load on small aircraft (e.g., B737). Please contact our customer service center for assistance." Not a stated maximum chair size. Unchanged on the live page 2026-07-29.

Not published — Jin Air gives no weight limit for a powered wheelchair.
"Delivery service will be provided to make the wheelchair available at the arrival gate" — stated for a customer's own wheelchair generally; Jin Air does not separately confirm it for powered chairs, which require special arrangements with the Customer Center.

The watt-hour rules live on the Lithium Battery Entry Regulations tab of the Restricted Items page (jinair.com/ready/battery), not on the accessibility page, which still only says "special arrangements are required". Jin Air describes the rule as applying to a lithium-battery powered wheelchair "for medical use". Nothing is published about wet or non-spillable batteries, so a lead-acid or gel chair user should call +82 1600 6200 before booking.
Manual wheelchairs
"If you are traveling with your own wheelchair, you can use it up to the aircraft boarding gate, and your wheelchair will be loaded separately as baggage in front of the gate." Alternatively the chair can be checked in at the counter and Jin Air lends an airport wheelchair. Re-verified on the live page 2026-07-29 — wording unchanged.

The Conditions of Carriage (international "Carry-on Items"; domestic Article 28) permit "a fully collapsible wheelchair … provided that the passenger is fully dependent upon them" to be carried in the cabin free of charge in addition to the free baggage allowance; if there is no cabin space for operational reasons it goes in the hold as checked baggage with no excess-baggage charge. Jin Air's accessibility page also lists "onboard stowage of an assistive device" as a special-assistance service. No closet size is published.

No dimensions published. A fully collapsible wheelchair may be carried in the cabin under the Conditions of Carriage, but Jin Air states no closet or stowage-space measurement.
Not a stated maximum chair size but a loading threshold: "If the size of the wheelchair exceeds 122cm (width) x 84cm (height), it may be difficult to load on small aircraft (e.g., B737). Please contact our customer service center for assistance." A bigger chair is not refused outright; you have to ask. Jin Air does not say whether the figure is a door aperture or a compartment. No depth/length figure is given. Unchanged on the live page 2026-07-29.

Not published — Jin Air gives no weight limit for a wheelchair or other mobility aid. The 32 kg ceiling on the free-baggage page applies to an ordinary checked bag, not to a mobility aid, and has not been imported here.
"Delivery service will be provided to make the wheelchair available at the arrival gate." The retired help centre added that a checked chair "will be delivered to you ahead of any other luggage for your use at the gate upon arrival", but that this varies by airport, so confirm when booking. Re-verified live 2026-07-29.

Jin Air's fleet is B737 narrowbodies plus a small number of B777-200ERs; the 122 x 84 cm figure is the point at which the airline says a chair may not fit the smaller type.
Booking & cost
Jin Air's Online Request Form for Special Assistance states it "must be submitted at least 48 hours before your scheduled flight, or the service would not be available". Other published deadlines: service dogs 48 h; a designated seat for a passenger with a disability or aged 70+ up to 24 h before departure or at check-in; at the airport, request wheelchair help 2 h before international / 1 h before domestic departure. No separate lead time is printed for a powered chair — it must be arranged with the Customer Center.

Both Conditions of Carriage list "a fully collapsible wheelchair, a pair of crutches, braces and the prosthetic devices for the physically handicapped passenger's use" among articles carried free of charge in the cabin in addition to the free baggage allowance; where cabin space is unavailable they go in the hold and "no excess baggage charge will apply". Airport wheelchair rental at departure/arrival is also "complimentary".

Not published as a maximum count. The Conditions of Carriage list "a fully collapsible wheelchair" (singular) plus crutches, braces and prosthetic devices as free-of-charge cabin articles, and the retired help centre said "One wheelchair or other type of aid needed by the disabled can be checked in free of charge", but no page states a limit on the number of mobility aids carried.
Conditions of Carriage: "The liability of Jin Air is 1,288 SDRs for Checked and Unchecked Baggage where the Montreal Convention applies to your journey"; a higher declared value may be bought in advance. The Baggage Compensation Guide adds that the Warsaw Convention applies where Montreal does not. The Bill of Rights Jin Air publishes states an airline "must provide compensation in an amount up to the original purchase price of the wheelchair or device" — a US-route (14 CFR 382.131) rule, not a global Jin Air commitment.

Not published. Jin Air says nothing about accessible lavatories on any of its accessibility, onboard-service or fleet pages; it refers passengers to the airport operator's website for accessible facilities.
Not published as such. Jin Air offers airport wheelchair transport to and from the gate, priority boarding, an onboard aisle chair and (on US routes) "assistance to passengers with visual, auditory, cognitive, or mobility impairments" in the airport and on the plane, but nowhere states that staff assist with transfers between the chair and the aircraft seat.
"Passengers with disabilities or seniors (aged 70 and over) can request priority seating through the Customer Center up to 24 hours before departure, or at the airport check-in counter." Not available if already taken by another passenger requiring assistance, and the designated seat may change if the aircraft type changes.

Fleet detail. Jin Air warns that a wheelchair over 122 cm (width) x 84 cm (height) "may be difficult to load on small aircraft (e.g., B737)" — its fleet is mostly B737 narrowbodies with a few B777-200ERs — and that the customer service centre must be contacted in that case.
Worth knowing
Every fact here was re-verified against Jin Air's live site on 2026-07-29; the record is no longer archive-only. www.jinair.com sits behind a Cloudflare managed challenge that returns HTTP 403 to every non-browser client (direct fetch, reader proxy, rendered proxy, http and https, with and without www), which is why an earlier pass could read nothing; the pages cited here were read from Jin Air's own origin server with the site's English and Korean language cookies set, and a normal browser reaches the same URLs. The big gain is batteries: the previously unreadable Restricted Items page has a "Lithium Battery Entry Regulations" tab (jinair.com/ready/battery) carrying a "Lithium Battery Powered Wheelchair (Medical Use)" rule — removable battery removed and carried in the cabin, chair accepted as checked baggage under 300 Wh total (two batteries: 160 Wh each); non-removable battery fixed to the chair with short-circuit protection and NO watt-hour limit. Also newly found: a 48-hour deadline on the Online Request Form for Special Assistance, an accessibility e-mail (helpsvc@jinair.com), free cabin carriage of a fully collapsible wheelchair in both Conditions of Carriage, and the 1,288 SDR baggage liability limit. Jin Air's English help centre (help.jinair.com) has been permanently retired — the host is NXDOMAIN and jinair.zendesk.com returns Zendesk's "this help center no longer exists" page (published 2025-04-29) — so the three help-centre citations are archive copies with no live successor; s2 and s4 were upgraded to the newest available captures. Korean pages were cross-checked and match the English word for word. Still not published anywhere: wet/non-spillable battery rules, wheelchair weight limits, accessible lavatory, transfer assistance, and any spare-battery allowance for mobility aids. Jin Air also requires two copies of a "Health Status Confirmation Pledge" from passengers needing special assistance for physical/medical reasons.
