Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Powered chairs are carried, but only with dry (non-spillable) or lithium batteries: "Se permite únicamente el transporte de sillas de ruedas con baterías secas (no derramables) o de litio." No prior approval is required; arrive 2 h before domestic / 3 h before international flights and hand the chair over switched off. [JetSMART Colombia — jetsmart.com/co/es]

Lithium batteries are accepted, both non-removable (staying installed in the chair, carried in the hold) and removable (which must be taken out and carried in the cabin).

The battery must stay installed and secured to the chair with terminals protected.

Not published for wheelchairs. JetSMART's separate general lithium FAQ caps loose batteries/power banks at 100 Wh and 2 per passenger, but that is the portable-electronics rule and is not stated to apply to wheelchair batteries. [JetSMART Colombia — jetsmart.com/co/es]
Not published for wheelchairs. The wheelchair rules describe one battery up to 300 Wh or two at 160 Wh each, but never call a second battery a "spare"; the general 2-spare portable-electronics limit is a different rule. [JetSMART Colombia — jetsmart.com/co/es]
Depends on the chair: a fixed (non-removable) battery stays installed and secured and travels in the hold; a removable battery (e.g. folding chairs) must be taken out, taped/insulated, placed in a protective container and carried into the cabin as hand baggage. Removing and handling the battery and protecting the terminals is expressly the passenger's responsibility.
Manual wheelchairs
Wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks and prostheses needed for mobility are carried at no extra cost (Regulaciones Particulares; FAQ "Necesito viajar con silla de ruedas, ¿cómo lo hago?"). [JetSMART Colombia — jetsmart.com/co/es]

Not published — no in-cabin wheelchair stowage space or closet limit is described.
Not published — JetSMART states no maximum wheelchair size and gives no hold-door or hold-compartment figures.
Not published for mobility aids. The 23 kg checked-bag and 32 kg absolute piece limits are stated for ordinary baggage, and mobility aids are carried outside the baggage allowance, so those figures are not transferable. [JetSMART Colombia — jetsmart.com/co/es]
Not published. JetSMART does not say where a checked mobility aid is returned; its instructions only cover handing the chair over at the airport counter. [JetSMART Colombia — jetsmart.com/co/es]
The passenger is solely responsible for dismantling and reassembling the chair (manual or electric) and for removing its battery: "Será de responsabilidad exclusiva del Pasajero las labores de desarme y armado de su silla de ruedas ... así como de la remoción de su batería" (Regulaciones Particulares).

No mobility-aid-specific liability rule is published. The Conditions of Carriage only say liability for lost, delayed or damaged baggage is limited by the applicable international conventions (Montreal 1999) on international flights and by national law where a flight starts and ends in one country.

Worth knowing
JetSMART Colombia (J6) is a separate Colombian AOC in the JetSMART group and sells through the group site's Colombian path jetsmart.com/co/es (footer: "© 2026 JetSMART Colombia"); every page cited is that Colombian path. Three things a human should re-check: (1) the FAQ implies a 48 h notification window while the Regulaciones Particulares state prior notice is NOT required — 48 h is recorded as the strictest published figure; (2) JetSMART's general lithium FAQ caps batteries at 100 Wh and 2 spares/power banks per passenger, which reads as contradicting the 300 Wh wheelchair allowance — the wheelchair section is the specific rule; (3) the airline disclaims liability for damage to oversized baggage ("JetSMART no se responsabilizará de daños a equipaje sobredimensionado") and never says whether a checked wheelchair counts as such. JetSMART also states it carries no aviation-certified medical oxygen and cannot accommodate stretcher passengers.
