Hi Fly (Malta)
Publishes nothing about carrying a passenger’s own wheelchair. You have to ask them.
Hi Fly (Malta) publishes no mobility-aid policy. Its website works and we read it, but it says nothing about carrying a passenger’s own manual or powered wheelchair — no battery rules, no size limits, no notice period. That silence is the finding, and it is why almost every field below is blank. Silence is not permission. Ask them directly, get the answer in writing, and read the international baseline so you know what should apply.
Wet-lease / ACMI operator. Hi Fly (Malta) usually flies aircraft and crew on behalf of other airlines. If your ticket says another airline, that airline’s wheelchair policy governs your booking — but the aircraft’s physical hold limits are this operator’s.
Who to contact
Transcribed from the airline’s own pages, exactly as it labels them.
- PhoneWorldwide — Hi Fly group switchboard in Lisbon, shared with Hi Fly (Portugal); Hi Fly Malta publishes no separate line
- EmailPassenger rights — flight delays and cancellations, for flight codes HFM/3L* (Hi Fly Malta) or HFY/5K
- EmailBaggage claims
- EmailGeneral enquiries
Hi Fly publishes no accessibility, special-assistance or mobility-aid page at all. The only passenger-facing channels on hifly.aero are passengers.rights@hifly.aero (explicitly for flight codes HFM/3L*, i.e. Hi Fly Malta, and HFY/5K) and Baggage.claims@hifly.aero, both reachable on +351 211 143 500. Because Hi Fly flies wet-lease, a wheelchair user should raise the aid with the airline whose flight number they are travelling on, not with Hi Fly.
Read it from the source
Every unanswered field below has the same explanation: Not published — Hi Fly’s website (hifly.aero, which covers the Hi Fly Malta AOC, flight codes HFM/3L*) has no accessibility, special-assistance, mobility-aid, baggage or dangerous-goods content of any kind.
Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.

Worth knowing
ACMI/wet-lease operator — the contracting airline's policy applies. Hi Fly describes itself on its own homepage as “a leading wet lease and charter specialist airline operating worldwide” and does not sell seats; Hi Fly Malta is its second AOC, issued by Malta TM-CAD in 2013, and hifly.aero is the group site that covers it (the contacts page routes “Flights Delays and Cancellations” for flight codes HFM/3L* — Hi Fly Malta's ICAO/IATA codes — to passengers.rights@hifly.aero). The site is reachable and complete but publishes nothing whatsoever about wheelchairs, mobility aids, batteries or special assistance, so a passenger flying on a Hi Fly Malta aircraft must use the rules of the airline that wet-leased it. Hi Fly Cargo is a separate operation.
