Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Self-propelled electric/battery wheelchairs are accepted only with dry or gel batteries, loaded upright in the hold with the battery vertical, securely attached with non-conductive material, wires removed and terminals covered. Wheelchairs with lithium batteries are NOT accepted; wet batteries always travel separately as Dangerous Goods freight.
