Everything else — including declaring your wheelchair battery type — goes to the general Customer Service Center. Numbers are transcribed exactly as printed on aireuropa.com; the site publishes a long per-country list, and the US/Canada block could not be attributed unambiguously to one country, so it is not recorded here. Powered wheelchairs & batteries

The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.

Air Europa's information sheet uses the IATA chair codes: WCBD (dry battery), WCBW (wet battery), WCMP (manual), WCLB (lithium-ion). It asks where the brake is, whether the device operates with a key or code and where the key is kept, and requires that "the wheels or other components of the wheelchair / mobility aid must be able to be dismantled without tools at the airport". Record any pre-existing damage on the form before the flight.

Air Europa publishes a maximum mobility-aid size and weight rather than hold-door apertures, under the heading "To reduce the risk of damage to your mobility aid, the following size and weight restrictions will apply", in one table covering the B787-8, B787-9 and B737: heights 90 cm / 35.1 in and 84 cm / 32.8 in, widths 90 cm / 35.1 in and 100 cm / 39 in, length 125 cm / 48.8 in, weight 150 kg / 330 lb. The rendered table gives two values across three aircraft columns; the smallest of each is recorded as the binding limit here.

Worth knowing

The English and Spanish mobility pages are identical in substance; the Spanish version was read to confirm the battery wording. Air Europa is one of the more generous carriers here: it states plainly that "There is no maximum limit of Wh for the battery installed in the wheelchair or mobility aid" for a non-folding chair, it accepts spillable wet-cell batteries (with the chair carried vertically), it returns the chair at the aircraft door, and its cabin crew are described as able to help you use the on-board wheelchair. Things a human should re-check. (1) The size table renders two values across three aircraft columns (B787-8, B787-9, B737); the smallest figures — 84 cm high, 90 cm wide, 125 cm long — are recorded as binding, but which figure belongs to which type is not unambiguous on the page. (2) The linked wheelchair information sheet is a Spanish-only PDF whose filename carries a 2021-12-20 revision date (doc ref AEA-MOP7-001-F115-R02) even though it is the document the current page links as "Informational document"; the Montreal Art. 22.2 liability wording used here comes from that PDF. (3) Air Europa does not publish a seating policy for disabled passengers, nor anything about an accessible lavatory. Air Europa flies to the USA and does publish a CRO (croaireuropa@air-europa.com, 08:00–22:00 LT).
